IT’S OFFICIAL! HYUNDAI VENUE (QXI) TO BE REVEALED IN INDIA ON 17TH APRIL

AFTER ITS REVEAL IN APRIL THIS YEAR, THE HYUNDAI VENUE (QXI) IS EXPECTED TO LAUNCH IN INDIA SOMETIME DURING THE MONTH OF MAY; MIGHT BE SLIGHTLY EXPENSIVE.

The all-new sub-4-meter compact SUV from Hyundai, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza challenger, will be reveal in India on the 17th of April this year. Hyundai has officially confirmed the same in a recent communication.

This compact urban SUV is based on the Carlino concept showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. Recent media reports suggested that this new sub-4-meter SUV could be named as the ‘Styx’. However, in an official statement, Hyundai has now confirmed that the same will be named as the Venue.

The Hyundai Venue is based on the same platform as that of the Hyundai i20. The company had revealed a teaser video of this vehicle last week. Though under heavy camouglage, it is clearly visible that this vehicle will have a ‘mini Creta’ like silhoutte.

That said, this aesthetic feature becomes prominent when the vehicle is viewed from the side. The front and the rear fascia of the Venue or the QXi are in accordance with Hyundai’s latest design philosophy.

It means that it gets sleek LED daytime running lights in place of the usual positioning of the main headlamp unit. Sitting below these is a large chrome grille bearing Hyundai’s cascading trapezoidal design layout. On either side of it sits the main headlamp unit integrated with the fog-lamps.

The Hyundai Venue is expected to get a feature loaded cabin. Spy shots have indicated the presence of a floating touchscreen infotainment system. This unit is likely to support Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity. Other creature comforts will include steering mounted audio controls, leather upholstery, an electric sunroof, automatic headlamps and wipers to name a few.

On the safety front, the Venue will get dual airbags along with ABS and EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, reverse parking sensors, driver and passenger seat belt warning and high-speed warning system as standard across the range. Top-spec models are might get addition safety equipment such as up to 6-airbags, ESP, hill-start and hill-dscent control among others.

Though not confirmed, the word on the street is that the Venue is going to get three engine options. There is going to be a 1.4-litre petrol engine and a 1.4-litre diesel engine. Both these engines will be paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. In addition to these, there is also going to be a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine paired to a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.
